A new e-commerce platform, built from the ground up

A growing retail brand had outgrown its off-the-shelf store. We assembled an embedded team to design and build a modern, composable commerce platform — new architecture, new storefront, ready for rapid feature work.

The challenge

The brand's packaged store couldn't keep up. Every new feature was a fight against the platform, the mobile experience was converting poorly, and the team had no room to experiment. They needed a foundation they owned — fast, flexible, and built for growth.

Our approach

We built a composable, API-first commerce platform with a headless storefront, so the brand can ship front-end changes quickly without touching core commerce logic. Mobile-first from day one, with performance budgets and experimentation built into the workflow.

  • Headless storefront in Next.js / React, backed by a GraphQL API over Node.js services.
  • Composable architecture: catalog, cart, checkout, and payments as independent, scalable services.
  • Stripe payments and a product-information integration to keep catalog data in sync.
  • Mobile-first redesign with a strict performance budget for fast, high-converting pages.
  • Built-in A/B testing so the team can experiment and learn continuously.
